Payments
Reef Tank Lighting accepts Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, PayPal, Bank Certified Checks, Cashier's Check, Money
Orders, and Wire Transfers for large orders (over $100). We
do not accept Personal/Company Checks, Purchase Orders, or C.O.D's.
Note: All Prepaid Orders, including Cashier's
Checks, take longer to process because all checks must first
clear with the bank due to the existence of fraudulent checks.
For checks and money order: You can place an order
and pay with a certified bank check or money order by choosing
PayPal in the payment field instead of a credit
card as method of payment. Make sure to add a note in the order
comments section of the online form letting us know that
you will be paying via certified check/money order. Next, write
the order number on your check, print your confirmation and
mail them to us at the following address:

Shipping
Shipping is calculated by UPS at the time of checkout.
Cancellation/Return
Policy
Section 1 - 30 Day Return Policy
A) All products must be returned to our warehouse
or the original equipment manufacturers warehouse within 30
days of the purchase date with all the original packaging, documentation
etc
If we receive merchandise which does not have all
the original documentation we reserve the right to charge a
15% restocking fee.
B) Buyer is to notify Reeftanklighting (RTL) by phone or email
describing the reason for the requested return. RTL will supply
customer with a "Return Authorization Number" which
is to be placed on the outside box of the returned merchandise.
C) Buyer is to be responsible for all shipping costs to and
from our warehouses for returned merchandise. We recommend that
the returned merchandise be covered with shipping insurance
for the full sale price of the product. RTL cannot give credits
on merchandise which it has not received nor can we give credits
for materials which were returned damaged by the freight company.
Please insure all returned merchandise for the full purchase
price.
D) Special Order merchandise cannot be returned for reasons
other than being defective or damaged by the freight carrier.
Special Order merchandise will be identified in the item description
of the product.
Section 1a - DIY Parts 30 Day Return Policy
1) DIY parts and accessories do not qualify under
the "30 Day Return Policy" unless the item(s) are
returned in a NEW, unused original condition with its original
packaging. DIY parts include but are not limited to the following
items: All electrical sockets brackets, reflectors, fixture
housings, metal halide and fluorescent bulbs, fans, power cords
etc
Section 2 - Defective or Damaged Items
1) If an order arrives damaged RTL must be notified
within 24 hours of receipt of the item, not from the time the
damage was identified.
2) If notification is given to RTL of a damaged item within
24 hours a new item will be sent to the customer. With the new
item there will be a return mailing label for the return of
the defective product.
3) If the customer fails to return the defective or damaged
merchandise within a period of 7 days from the receipt of the
replacement material. Customer will be charged for the replacement
item.
4) If RTL is notified after the 24 hour time frame customer
will be responsible for the return freight to RTL and the freight
costs for the outgoing item.
5) In the event of a freight claim, customer is to retain all
original packaging material for the item for a period of 10
days. During this time the shipper has a right to inspect the
packaging of the item. If the customer fails to retain the packaging
material i.e.
bubble wrap, peanuts, box etc
and
the freight claim is denied, RTL cannot replace the merchandise.
6) Upon receipt of a positive resolution and receipt of payment
on a freight claim a new item will be sent.
7) All defective merchandise which is covered under a manufactures
warranty i.e. Hamilton Technology, Sunlight Supply, Aqua Medic
etc
will be bound to the terms and conditions of said
warranty.
8) All returned merchandise will be tested to identify the defect.
If there is no defect to be found we reserve the right to levy
a 20% restocking fee for the item.
Section 3 - Order cancellations
1) If you would like to cancel your order prior
to shipping. Customer will receive a 95% refund. If you would
like to cancel your order after it has been shipped. All merchandise
is to be returned at the customers expense. Once returned merchandise
has been inspected and found to be in a new and original condition
and we have received a credit from our distributor. A credit
will be issued for 95% of the purchased dollar amount minus
any applicable freight charges.
Section 4- General Terms and Conditions
1) Reeftanklighting reserves the right to accept,
refuse, or limit your order for any reason, including, but not
limited to, credit review, the unavailability of a product or
errors in the prices and product descriptions posted on this
web site. By placing your order, you agree that Reeftanklighting.com
total liability, under any legal theory or claim, shall be limited
to the purchase price actually paid to Reeftanklighting.com
for the product giving rise to Reeftanklighting.com's liability.

& Security
Your security is a priority at Reef Tank Lighting.
We use Secure Servers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transmission
to secure orders from our customers. This enables us to encrypt
any data sent to our web server, and in turn our server will
encrypt any data sent back to your web browser. This is the
highest level of encryption available to the general public.
Our online shopping cart uses Verisign Digital IDs (SSL Secure
Certificate) exclusively. No credit card information is stored
on our servers for your protection.
We will NOT sell, trade, or disclose any of the
personal information you have disclosed to us.
